welcome to the neighborhood?

Happy weekend everyone!

As usual the sara's have been out wandering, today we took a jog through the neighborhoods of Swansea.
The good news: we only almost got hit by a car once! We take this as a major accomplishment --the sara's have finally started figuring out the whole driving/cross the street situation... sorta. (remember CTL)

& if things couldn't get any better, we got another round of good news last night. We discovered that we get done with school at the first of May... (for those of you who don't know, we don't fly home until June 14) So basically we have a month and a half to travel the UK. Go us!
There are positive sides to not understanding the British school system! (;

So here's the funny story for today, though nothing like D's getting hit on by Denny story...
D gets the boys & E is in charge of embarrassing us.. someone has to do it. I take full responsibility

So the other night, I decide to make french fries. (yum) Great idea, right? right.
on a side note: I later found out that I totally jacked one of my roommates potatoes thinking they were someone else's that had already moved out...making friend's one stolen item after another (;

five minutes after putting the potatoes in the oven the smoke alarms (yes, plural) start going off.
& these smoke detectors are nothing like the ones back home -- they sound like the sirens of a fire truck.
So we are frantically running around trying to turn them off. Opening doors, windows & calling our roommate who was in Cardiff for the weekend -- she laughed at us & told us they would turn off eventually.
So to give you a picture of the moment: E is fanning the smoke alarms with a towel (yes running back and forth between the two)... & D is only worried about getting a picture of the moment.
An hour (ok 10 minutes) later they finally stopped going off.
The longest 10 minutes of our lives.  On the up side the fire "brigade" didn't show up like we were worried would happen. We didn't need another 'stupid Americans' scenario

We keep things interesting here in Wales.

Our neighbors are sure to love us now right?

I'll leave you with my most exciting event for me this morning -- my hair can finally fit in a bun on top of my head! hello to never doing my hair again! (no wonder D gets the boys)
